From 11 to 12th June 2019 was held the main industry events which took place at the exhibition center ACCO International (40-B Peremohy ave., Shuliavska metro station, Pushkin Park) which united the leaders of medical and health tourism of Ukraine, as well as abroad, – VIII International Exhibition of Medical and Health Tourism, SPA&Wellness – Healthcare Travel Expo and the International Medical Tourism Congress (IMTC).

 

The exhibition became a platform for active interaction and cooperation between players of the medical tourism market on a professional level. The rich business program of events and B2B BUYERS MEETING opened new horizons for the development and promotion of medical services in the international and domestic markets.

This year's innovation was the INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL TOURISM CONGRESS (IMTC), a unique platform for exchanging experiences in the treatment of many diseases between foreign and domestic medical centers and clinics. This place of meeting and active interaction of the players of the medical tourism market is a new opportunity for the development and promotion of medical services in Ukraine and abroad.

 

During two days within the framework of the Congress, the conference “Private Medicine 2019. Medical Tourism: Present and Prospects” was held, which was divided into two sections.

 

On the first day in the section “Outbound medical tourism: realities and perspectives” the issues of outbound medical tourism from Ukraine, services for Ukrainian patients in European hospitals, world trends in the development of medical tourism, business strategy for attracting patients from Ukraine and CIS countries were considered, legal aspects and principles of working with international insurance companies.

 

The next day at the section “Modern achievements of Ukrainian private medicine. Inbound medical tourism in Ukraine - Why not?” for buyers of Europe/CIS; mediators of medical tourism; representatives of Ukrainian private medical centers, private doctors considered the issue of legal aspects of inbound medical tourism, the development of incoming medical tourism, international accreditation of medical centers, reproductive medicine in Ukraine, transgender patients, key competencies in cardio surgery and oncology, system correlation JCI and ISO Standards for Medical Facilities, Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery of the European Level in Ukraine, Psychological and Legal Aspects of Admission of Foreign Patients and many other, no less interesting topics.

 

At the seminar Innovations in the treatment of the anterior surface and appendages of the eye ophthalmologists and the head and teachers of the Department of Ophthalmology of the NMAPO shared their knowledge. The subjects of inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, endoscopic examination of the tears and modern surgical methods of treatment of tears were extremely interesting for the listeners.

 

The full room of midwives, obstetric and gynecologic nurses was assembled by the Ukrainian School of Nursing: Obstetrics and Gynecology, organized by the Medical Professional Events and the Association of Nurses of Ukraine. A number of topical topics were considered such as: labor migration, computerized work places in obstetrics and gynecology, injecting safety, bleeding, legal liability of midwives and nurses for professional offenses, competence of nurses, urgent states, cardiopulmonary resuscitation , which was demonstrated on the mannequin.

 

Also interesting topics were considered at the seminar “Innovations in implantology and dentistry: Ukraine's possibilities”, organized by the Medical Center “Dent Vocal”. Interest in dentistry and implantologists has led to the reports Dental tourism to Ukraine, digital technology in modern dentistry and the introduction of digital technologies into a modern dental clinic, the prospects of modern implantology.

For Oncologists was a seminar "Modern methods of treatment and diagnosis of oncological diseases", which considered a number of important topics in oncology, such as the future of safe cancer treatment, interventional ultrasound in oncology, experience in implementing tomotherapy, a world-class cancer clinic, and a service that provides all the spectrum of oncopharmaceutical products and services.

 

Attracted attention of reproduction specialists, obstetricians and gynecologists, medical tourists to the seminar “Modern reproductive technologies in Ukraine: what attracts foreign patients?”.

The speaker-experts examined the key issues of the development of reproductive tourism in the world and the factors of choice of foreign patients for treatment, new technologies in ART, clinical laboratory of reproductive clinics and many others. Participants talked very lively about what looking for foreign patients in Ukraine.

 

Among the events for rehabilitants, physiotherapists, sports medicine specialists, it is necessary to mark the III International scientific and methodical conference: Author's school of Sergey Kapralov “Modern, ethnic and non-traditional methods used in massages, physical rehabilitation and sports medicine” and the IV International scientific and methodical conference: Author's school of Sergey Kapralov “Forum of Massage and SPA-rehabilitation technologies” organized by the Center Kapralov. On examples Sergey Kapralov showed his own author's techniques, which have already been introduced in the rehabilitation departments of some centers.

 

On June 12 was held B2B BUYERS MEETING. A free program of meetings for registered participants of the exhibition with medical, medical and health tourists from Europe, the CIS and Ukraine. A special atmosphere contributed to new acquaintances, meetings with old friends and sharing experience.

 

For the first time in Ukraine, the exhibition and congress were held as a separate event on the new exhibition grounds.
